Remember those Mac commercials bragging about how iPhoto can tag peoples faces and then allow you to search your collection of images by face? When I first saw that I thought to my self, wow there has to be something in windows that can do the same thing. After a bit of searching the answer was no, until now.
Leave it to Google to release something that I didn't think I would need at first, but now can not live without. After downloading the free application and pointing it to your folders of photos (You should change the default which scans your whole computer). It popped up a giant list of faces or I like to say "mug shots". After naming a few it continuously scans through the photos and groups them together. One thing that amazed me is its ability to spot faces in the distance and even when the person has their head turned. It took maybe an hour for everything to get indexed (12GB) of photos and now I can easily find an person I want in my collection.
I don't normally write about applications is this way but for being free and easy to use software it needed to be shared.
